Mac Quick Sizzle Lipstick Review and Swatches

Happy Easter Sunday! What are your plans for today? I'm headed for the beach but not before I bring you one more lipstick review from my last Mac haul. Today's review is all about Mac's Quick Sizzle lipstick.

Quick Sizzle  came out with the Shop Mac Cook Mac Collection. The lipsticks in this collection are a bright lipstick lover's dream. From vibrant reds to bright bubblegum pinks. I only got Naughty Saute and Quick Sizzle, mostly because I had enough reds in my stash so I didnt need Runaway Red. Innocence beware looked way to light for me and the orange tone of Watch me Simmer kinda scared me to be honest.

Mac’s Quick Sizzle is a gorgeous, bright, blue based magenta/fuchsia pink.  Its basically a bright deep pink for those of you who aren't fussy about color descriptions. It comes in the basic black bullet Mac packaging with a decorative outer box cover.

This lipstick is one of Mac’s matte formulas and I must admit that I am in love with the new formula of Mac’s matte lipsticks. Quick Sizzle has got to be one of the best mattes that Mac has put out recently in terms of application and wear. Although this lipstick is a matte, it’s not at all drying on the lips and it applies smoothly without any tugging or pull. Best of all this lipstick does not settle into lines or cling to any dryness on the lips. It’s actually a very forgiving lipstick with amazing pigmentation. It’s easy to get perfectly opaque coverage in just one swipe.

Like most mattes, this lipstick is extremely long wearing and leaves a bright red-pink stain on the lips when it vanishes. I can’t stand how much this lipstick stains. I woke up with cherry red and pink lips after wearing this. Not cute!

SWATCHES

OVERALL

I think that this is definitely one of those lip colors that will look amazing n any skin tone from light to darker skintones. So my brown skin beauties do not be afraid of this one. It’s too pretty to ignore. Quick Sizzle unfortunately sold out quite quickly so I’m not sure if many of you can get your hands on this anymore but if you can I definitely suggest picking it up. If not then Mac’s Girl About Town lipstick makes the perfect alternative.

I Quick Sizzle and plan on wearing it a lot this dry season (spring 2012) Were you lucky enough to get Quick Sizzle? What do you think?

  1. love this. I skipped on this one to. When I swatched in store was similar to my Girl about town(minus the finish of course) but gorgeous colour nonetheless. :)
