Mac Quick Sizzle Lipstick Review and Swatches

Happy Easter Sunday! What are your plans for today? I'm headed for the beach but not before I bring you one more lipstick review from my last Mac haul. Today's review is all about Mac's Quick Sizzle lipstick.

Quick Sizzle  came out with the Shop Mac Cook Mac Collection. The lipsticks in this collection are a bright lipstick lover's dream. From vibrant reds to bright bubblegum pinks. I only got Naughty Saute and Quick Sizzle, mostly because I had enough reds in my stash so I didnt need Runaway Red. Innocence beware looked way to light for me and the orange tone of Watch me Simmer kinda scared me to be honest.

Mac’s Quick Sizzle is a gorgeous, bright, blue based magenta/fuchsia pink.  Its basically a bright deep pink for those of you who aren't fussy about color descriptions. It comes in the basic black bullet Mac packaging with a decorative outer box cover.

This lipstick is one of Mac’s matte formulas and I must admit that I am in love with the new formula of Mac’s matte lipsticks. Quick Sizzle has got to be one of the best mattes that Mac has put out recently in terms of application and wear. Although this lipstick is a matte, it’s not at all drying on the lips and it applies smoothly without any tugging or pull. Best of all this lipstick does not settle into lines or cling to any dryness on the lips. It’s actually a very forgiving lipstick with amazing pigmentation. It’s easy to get perfectly opaque coverage in just one swipe.

Like most mattes, this lipstick is extremely long wearing and leaves a bright red-pink stain on the lips when it vanishes. I can’t stand how much this lipstick stains. I woke up with cherry red and pink lips after wearing this. Not cute!

I think that this is definitely one of those lip colors that will look amazing n any skin tone from light to darker skintones. So my brown skin beauties do not be afraid of this one. It’s too pretty to ignore. Quick Sizzle unfortunately sold out quite quickly so I’m not sure if many of you can get your hands on this anymore but if you can I definitely suggest picking it up. If not then Mac’s Girl About Town lipstick makes the perfect alternative.

I Quick Sizzle and plan on wearing it a lot this dry season (spring 2012) Were you lucky enough to get Quick Sizzle? What do you think?

Mac Naughty Saute Lipstick- Review and Swatches

Naughty Saute came out with the Shop Mac Cook Mac Collection.

Review and Swatches: Mac Naught Saute Lipstick

This lipstick comes in the regular Mac packaging with a decorative outer packaging. I love the colors and the entire retro concept of this collection. I just wish that they translated that to the actual lipstick packaging. How gorgeous would a pink and blue lipstick bullet be!

I was at the pharmacy the other night at happened to see a bottle of Pepto Bismo and honestly all I could think about is how much the color of the bottle looked like Mac’s Naughty Sauté lipstick from their recent Shop Mac Cook Mac collection. Actually that’s exactly how Mac describes this lipstick, as a Pepto Pink. I think that’s a perfect description. I’ll even throw in bubblegum and Barbie pink for extra measure. Its a blue based pink so it makes your teeth look pearly white which is always a plus.

One of the best things about this lipstick is the finish. Its a cremesheen so its slides on easily with no pulling or tugging and best of all no drying. Its actually quite moisturizing. The finish is a gorgeous creamy sheen that is consistent with all mac cremesheen lipsticks. Being a cremesheen also means that this lipstick could be worn quite lightly or more opaque per your preference. Since I'm no stranger to a bold lip I love packing it on. Since its glossy on its own I recommend skipping the lipgloss but I do like matching it with a coordinating lipliner. I get about 4-5 hours wear less if I'm eating and drinking.

Overall I love this lipstick. Its the perfect pop of color especially for pink lippie lovers.

Were you able to get this lipstick? What do you think? Are you a fan of bright pepto bismol pink lips?

Mac Force of Love Lipstick- Review and Swatches

So if you follow my blog then you probably saw that I picked up Mac’s Force of Love lipstick when it launched here in Trinidad. I’m only now getting around to doing this review so bear with me. By the way, this lipstick sold out in just one day on the Mac website!

Mac’s Force of Love is a part of the Mac Chen Man: Love and Water collection. Force of Love is described as a vivid honeysuckle pink by Mac. In my opinion it’s a bright coral-pink. And when I say bright I’m not exaggerating this lipstick is near neon.  It’s just an amazingly beautiful color.

In terms of formula this lipstick is a matte but it’s one of the new matte finishes from Mac so it’s not drying or difficult at all. In fact this lipstick applies well and gives complete, opaque coverage.  It also lasts a really long time on the lips as most mattes do. I get about 5-6 hours normal wear. Less if I’m eating or drinking.
One thing to note about this lipstick is that it does tend to cling to any flaking or dry skin so it’s very important to exfoliate your lips prior to using this lipstick. A lip primer is always a good idea or simply let a lip balm sit on your lips prior.

Overall I LOVE this lipstick. Actually I’m obsessed with it. I’ve been wearing this everywhere for the last two weeks. It’s definitely a statement lipstick that’s not for the faint of heart. I love pairing this with a sexy cat eye and my favorite peachy-pink blush.

What do you think about this lipstick? Were you able to get your hands on it? If not, I have a surprise for you….
