Bonjour my loves! Here's my review on Mac's Pro Longwear Concealer in Nc45. I picked this concealer up in my apparently never ending search to find my HG concealer.
I can't remember how much exactly i paid for this product but I believe it was about TT$140.
I love the idea for the packaging of this product however it is application is a major fail on Mac's part. Mac's thoughfulness at including a pump with this product is marred by the inconsistency and lack of control it allows the user. With one pump I could conceal my entire face! My fingers literally shake when trying to squeeze just the right amount of little product I need from such an inconsistent packaging detail. Sometimes I get it sometimes not so much and much of my product goes to waste. This week I've actually started saving my excess product in a little glass jar that my mom gave me and try to use it the next time I do my makeup. Super useful tip to avoid product wastage. I'm also left wondering if this pump will get all the product in the bottle near the end. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
Other than that the packaging is really sleek and modern. I love the look of the glass jar/vial with its sleek matte black cover. I love the fact that its actually pretty study too. I dropped mine twice already (once while shaking it) and its still in mint condition. Major points for Mac on that note.(But I wouldnt push it) Its just a bit taller than a standard Mac lipstick which makes this product quite travel-friendly.
In terms of wear this concealer does last an amazing 12 hours. It really is a longwearing concealer that is able to stand up to heat and humidity. Take it from me. I've been testing this badboy out in the hot and humidity of a typical Trinidad secondary school classroom for the last few weeks. I have even slept with it on (bad idea) and it looked pretty good the next day. This baby really stays put without moving or smudging. So much so that a good makeup remover is definitely needed to remove it. I like to use the Avon one.

Also I'm not a big fan of how this concealer applies under my eyes. It does an ok job of covering my dark circles yes but it also settles into my lines which is not a very complimentary look especially for those who might have deeper lines. This concealer does dry quite quickly and gets more difficult to blend as it does, so you need to move with some measure of speed when applying it. I usually apply to one area at a time and move on only when I'm done. This is especially true for my eye area and I need to apply to one eye at a time and blend out before moving on.

Other than those concerns this concealer worked great. It easily covers most blemishes (though I don't have much to begin) and is perfect for concealing redness and darkness in problem areas. For me those areas are around my mouth, and nose area. It also leaves my eyes bright and lifted looking.

I love using my fingers to apply this concealer since it really helps warm up the product and make it easier to work with. I like to apply a thin, sheer layer over my entire eye area then go back in with a little more product in a patting motion, blending as i go. I use this product as with all concealers after I apply my foundation then set with one of my setting powders. On days when I'm not wearing foundation I use this same method and have found that it blends into my skintone quite well and looks natural once set with a powder.
BEFORE AND AFTER
Here's a before and after shot. Im not wearing any foundation just the concealer under my eyes.

You be the judge!
If your're looking for a concealer that can keep up with you through a hectic full 12 hour day that covers medium dark circles, then this is your concealer. If you have dry skin however or deep lines around your eyes I think there might be something better out there for you.
